In the latest installment of Doctor Who titled “The Reality War”, not only did Ncuti Gatwa bid farewell to his role as the Doctor, but we also said goodbye to companion Belinda, portrayed by Varada Sethu.
In this installment, the Doctor made a selfless choice to return Poppy, their child born in Conrad’s Wish World with Belinda, to the real world by giving up his own existence.
Following his actions, he subsequently paid a visit to Belinda where he discovered an alternate reality in which Poppy was Belinda’s child born to a man called Ritchie, whom she was no longer romantically involved with. This revelation explained why Belinda had been so eager to return home since the onset of the season.
In the broadcast of the episode, certain viewers voiced their displeasure with the character’s ending, who at the start of the season was a nurse sharing an apartment. Some argued that the Doctor had compelled her to live a life not her own, a life that had originally been imposed upon her by Conrad.

It’s often a feeling of disbelief, such as, “I can hardly imagine not getting to meet Belinda again.” The emotion stems from the deep affection for Belinda that leaves people saying, “I can hardly believe I won’t have more of her company.
When inquired about her feelings towards the conclusion once more, Sethu replied: “Indeed, it was perfectly wrapped up, in a very beautiful manner.
After Belinda’s departure, the Doctor underwent regeneration independently within the TARDIS, gazing at Joy, the character brilliantly portrayed by Nicola Coughlan, who had gained stardom following the conclusion of Joy to the World.
From the rejuvenating force arose no one other than Billie Piper, famed for her role as companion Rose Tyler – the answer to that enigma will have to be unveiled in time.
