Okay, so Rebellion just dropped a totally revamped version of Speedball on the PS5 today, January 27th, 2026! I’m seriously excited to finally get my hands on it – they’ve really brought this classic game back to life.
After being available on PC for a while, the game is now released on consoles. To celebrate, the developers have shared a new trailer.
Speedball is a fast-paced, action-packed game set in a futuristic sport. The goal is simple: beat the other team by scoring goals and powerfully taking down your opponents.
To help you understand the game and its features, Rebellion recently published a video explaining the gameplay and all available modes.
I love that this game lets me play however I want! I can jump into a solo League mode and try to beat everyone, do some quick, casual matches against the AI or a friend, or if I’m feeling competitive, head online and test my skills against other players.
This game appears solid and well-made, offering a fun throwback for longtime fans and a great introduction for newcomers.
