The Busby family is busy starting fresh.
Adam Busby and Danielle Busby recently announced that they closed their business and moved their family, consisting of ten-year-old quintuplets Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Riley, and Parker, along with fourteen-year-old Blayke, to a fresh town just 30 minutes away for the upcoming school year.
The pair defended their move from League City to Friendswood, Texas, amidst criticism from fans online about their decision.
On the July 19th episode of our ‘More Than Reality’ podcast, I, Adam, expressed my feelings as if I were an obsessed fan declaring, ‘It feels like God is relocating us from this current space into another intimate community.’ This new place is close-knit and welcoming. I believe it’s where God wants us to nurture our children, leading a more purposeful life with them, and providing an ideal environment for their upbringing.
In response to their children’s dismay due to the move, Danielle expressed that she and her husband made the decision that was most beneficial for them.
Danielle said, ‘I think it’s alright,’ but the children find it difficult to adjust. When she tells them about selling the house and moving, they respond, ‘Whoa, that’s not what we had planned.’ However, tough choices must be made because it’s important to do what is deemed best for the family.
Approximately two months following their relocation, and during the early weeks of the academic year, Danielle and Adam’s daughters have already begun adapting to their new circumstances.
As a devoted follower, I couldn’t help but feel an immense sense of pride in how everyone has adapted and reacted to the recent challenges we’ve faced. In particular, Blayke’s transition into high school, which can be quite daunting, has been nothing short of impressive.” (August 21 episode of their podcast)
After joining the school’s tennis team, the teen found a new community, which helped her adapt during the beginning of the academic year.
Adam remarked that joining the tennis team at the new school gave her a significant confidence boost. She’d already formed friendships with team members, and even extended those friendships to others connected with them.
Regarding Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Riley, and Parker, they managed to adapt comfortably, finding solace in their collective security.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “I’ve found myself in situations where there’s usually a classmate who shares the same bond as siblings. In my case, it’s been a comforting realization. Since there’s another familiar face around, I haven’t fretted much about feeling left out or withdrawn. Regardless of any moments when that might happen, I know my sister will be there, standing by my side.
As for Riley, the transition has been a bit more difficult with her anxiety.
Today, she chose to stay at home because our night was restless. There were plenty of tears, consoling, prayers, and comforting gestures like holding hands, as Danielle explained. She admitted it’s tough to experience such emotions when there seems to be no solution. Typically, when Riley faces similar struggles, it only lasts a day; however, this time it’s noticeably different.
And while they navigate their daughter’s struggles, Adam and Danielle remain optimistic.
Danielle assured them, “Things will work out eventually. We’ll become more resilient, and we’ll expand our abilities, learning to wield our resources effectively. It may require some patience.
