Outlander favourite’s new action thriller gets its UK home confirmed along with full cast details

Prime Video will be the exclusive home in the UK for the upcoming action thriller, Embassy, featuring Sam Heughan, Anna Kendrick, and JK Simmons.

The streaming service has acquired the rights to the six-episode AGC Television series, which will premiere next year, for viewers in Ireland, Canada, France, Australia, and New Zealand, in addition to its original territory.

In the thriller Embassy, Kendrick plays Layla, a clever and capable American diplomat. She’s put in a difficult position when she must decide whether to protect the U.S. Ambassador (played by Simmons) or obey his instructions to secretly extract a valuable person being held at the embassy.

Now in a difficult situation, Layla must trust her gut and accept help from her former fiancé, a British SAS soldier known for his role in Outlander (played by Heughan).

The film also features Aleksandar Jovanovic, known for his work in ‘The Gold,’ Lydia Leonard from ‘Gentleman Jack,’ Mitya Savelau who appeared in ‘3 Body Problem,’ Hasan Akil of ‘Memory Box,’ and James Murray from ‘Masters of the Air’.

The film also features Luke Treadaway, known for his role in ‘Unbroken,’ Stephen Odubola from ‘Boiling Point,’ Katie McGrath of ‘The Ex-Wife,’ Alexander Karim who appears in ‘Gladiator 2,’ and Natalie Mendoza from ‘Jack Ryan’.

The series was created and written by Rom Lotan, and produced by ACG, Ascendant Fox, and Turbine Studios.

Filming has begun in Cologne, Germany and London.

Sam Heughan has become a fan favorite for his portrayal of Jamie Fraser, the heroic Scottish Highlander, in the popular historical drama Outlander, which is now in its eighth and final season.

The actor has also appeared in several other films, notably as Sebastian in the action-comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, where he acted with Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon.

He also worked on shows like The Wild West, River City, Island at War, Party Animals, Midsomer Murders, Rebus, and Any Human Heart.

Embassy is coming to Prime Video in the UK in 2027.
