Science fiction films vary widely in tone. Some challenge viewers with complex scientific ideas, while others present grim, hopeless futures that can be deeply unsettling and stay with you long after the credits roll. James Gunn and Peter Safran, who are jointly leading DC Studios, have clearly explained their plans for DC films and TV shows. They’ve created a new label called ‘DC Elseworlds’ for stories that aren’t part of the main DC Universe timeline. This means projects like the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux starring Joaquin Phoenix and the The Batman films with Robert Pattinson will exist separately from the core DCU.

Many viewers today recognize him as Wesley Evers from The Rookie, where his on-again, off-again relationship with Angela has become a popular storyline. He also recently revisited his superhero roots with a guest appearance on The Boys, playing Lamplighter, a former superhero struggling with remorse for his past deeds.

The show The Book of Boba Fett unexpectedly shifted its focus to Din Djarin and Grogu, who were on separate paths at the time. This caused a lot of controversy among viewers and created a significant plot problem within the Star Wars universe. Grogu was faced with a choice between Jedi training and the Mandalorian way of life, and although he chose the Mandalorian path, the story continues to emphasize his Jedi potential. This creates a confusing inconsistency, especially since he no longer possesses Yoda’s lightsaber.

The first live-action Mortal Kombat movie, released in 1995, benefited from a strong cast. A sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, followed in 1997, though it wasn’t as popular as the original, it still has a nostalgic appeal for many gamers.
