As a big Power Rangers fan, it feels like a running joke that we’re always talking about a new adaptation of the original Mighty Morphin seasons. I get why people feel that way – it’s happened a lot! But honestly, it also makes sense from Hasbro’s side. If you’re going to bring a franchise back to life, you want to start with the strongest, most well-known part, and Mighty Morphin is still what most fans remember and love. It’s the perfect place to begin, really.

The reluctance to embrace traditional superhero costumes was clear in the 2000 X-Men film; Fox seemed hesitant to fully commit to the look. The movie even addressed this directly with a scene where Wolverine complained about his leather suit, prompting Cyclops to jokingly ask if he’d prefer yellow spandex – a moment that came to represent Fox’s cautious approach to superhero films. Now, with Avengers: Doomsday, that hesitation is finally being overcome.

After the recent release of the Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Stairway to Adulthood special in Japan, Kaguya-sama: Love is War is coming back with a new movie! This film will be a completely original story written by the series creator, Aka Akasaka, and will serve as the official ending to the anime. A short teaser trailer has been released to announce the movie, and you can watch it below.

The anime adaptation of Daemons of the Shadow Realm is scheduled to premiere next April. Studio BONES, known for its work on My Hero Academia, will be handling the animation. Having previously animated both Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, both created by Hiromu Arakawa, Studio BONES is a fitting choice for this new project by the same creator. Though many details about Yomi no Tsuga remain unknown, a recently released trailer offers a better look at the characters and story. You can watch the trailer above.

Even though science fiction has been doing well, the year’s biggest sci-fi hit, Pluribus, unexpectedly arrived on Apple TV in November. Its first season concluded right before Christmas, and the show quickly became a sensation. It received rave reviews, a nearly perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, and became Apple TV’s most-watched show ever. With the finale airing just last week, fans are now eagerly awaiting Season 2 – but unfortunately, there’s some disappointing news. (Spoiler warning!)

A Twitter user posted a tweet, claiming it was a joke, questioning the inconsistency of Thor’s hairstyle in the upcoming film Doomsday. They pointed out that Thor appears with short hair in a teaser, despite having long hair in DP&W, and suggested Marvel isn’t paying attention to continuity. Many people didn’t seem to realize it was sarcasm. One reply clarified that the scene isn’t meant to happen in Doomsday at all, but uses footage from The Dark World, and was already a joke within that movie. Another user theorized the discrepancy could be explained in Secret Wars, noting reports that film takes place eight years after Doomsday – plenty of time for Thor’s hair to grow. They added that if this isn’t addressed, it was likely just a one-off joke.
