In a world where mutants are feared and often hunted, many still strive to make a difference. However, they often reject the approaches of conventional heroes, choosing to fight fire with fire. Here are seven of the best anti-heroic mutants in Marvel Comics, who get the job done, even if their methods are brutal. (Note: Deadpool, while a popular anti-hero, isn’t a mutant and won’t be included.)

Netflix consistently has promising projects in development, and right now, Greta Gerwig is directing The Magician’s Nephew, the first movie in a planned series based on The Chronicles of Narnia. While the previous Narnia films weren’t successful, this new adaptation has potential. Another Netflix series, based on Assassin’s Creed, is also aiming for success by learning from the mistakes of the earlier movie and benefiting from the positive reception of other recent video game adaptations.

The game Routine was originally announced in 2012, but it took thirteen years to finally come out. For longtime fans, its release feels incredibly strange and exciting. After years of difficulties, including team changes, complete overhauls, and the evolution of gaming consoles, the project is now finished, beautifully refined, and available to play immediately on Game Pass. It’s unusual for a game with such a troubled past to launch so successfully, and even more surprising for it to feel fresh and modern after being shelved for so long. But Routine manages to do just that, demonstrating that a good idea can still shine, even after years of development.

The game Lost Ember received a boost with the “Legendary Souls” DLC and has now been re-released with improved performance. The new Lost Ember: Rekindled edition features enhanced graphics for a more immersive experience, giving both returning players and newcomers a chance to explore its beautiful worlds. While not for everyone, the game’s focus on nature and storytelling creates a unique and captivating experience for those who appreciate it.

Creative Assembly revealed a brand new Total War game during their showcase on Thursday: Total War: Medieval 3. While the series also successfully branched into fantasy with Total War: Warhammer, Medieval 3 is the first time a non-Warhammer sub-series has gotten a third installment. Cellar Door Games’ Kenny Lee announced that their new game, Neath, has been a long-time passion project, inspired by games like Into the Breach and Mansions of Madness. In a press release, Lee explained that developing Neath pushed the team outside their usual creative space, both in terms of genre and a darker visual style. They’re introducing innovative features like ‘engagement locking’ and the ‘attack resolve system’ and hope to significantly impact the genre. As Lee enthusiastically put it, “PRAISE NEATH!”
