A report from The Wall Street Journal explains the difficulties surrounding the development of Fast X – Part 2. As of now, the film doesn’t have a finalized script, a confirmed release date, or a complete cast. According to the report, Universal executives are even questioning whether they will make the movie at all, unless they can find a way to produce it at a significantly lower cost than [Fast X], which only just managed to turn a profit despite grossing $714.5 million globally. Universal has reportedly stated that the next Fast & Furious movie won’t move forward unless the production budget is around $200 million. To put that in perspective, Fast X had a budget of $340 million.

Gil Kenan’s first movie as director, Monster House, became available to stream on Peacock on October 1st, but it will only be on the platform through Halloween. The story takes place during Halloween and follows three kids who have to work together to take down a scary house in their neighborhood that’s not just haunted-it’s actually alive! Monster House made $142 million around the world, with a production budget of $75 million. It’s “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a 75% approval rating from critics, and is a wonderful choice for families to enjoy during the Halloween season, easily earning its place among other Halloween favorites.

Justice League: The Omega Act expands on the events surrounding Darkseid’s fate as seen in DC All-In #1. In that issue, Darkseid gave up his most powerful followers to gain the Spectre’s power, and then used it to fight the Justice League. Though the League defeated him, it left behind the Omega Rift at the site of his demise. Now, Justice League: The Omega Act #1 finally explains exactly what occurred, and reveals a surprising and unsettling truth about everything that’s happened in the DC Universe so far-Darkseid has actually succeeded, and the Justice League is unknowingly responsible. This is a fresh take on the Darkseid storyline, and it’s a much-needed development for the character.

But what if this concept was taken to a darker level? Good Boy delivers exactly that. Similar to how Courage the Cowardly Dog centered on a family dog confronting mysterious, supernatural problems that only he could handle, Good Boy unfolds from a dog’s viewpoint, as he’s the only one who senses something is amiss with the family’s farmhouse. Taking the horror elements much further than Courage the Cowardly Dog ever did, it demonstrates how effectively this central idea can be adapted to various forms of storytelling.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Selman was very direct about altering the characters’ history. He stated, “My creative process is: I don’t give an eff. We have two choices: either we never do flashback episodes and avoid mentioning the past – which would severely limit our creative freedom, or we embrace a playful and lighthearted approach, staying true to the show’s core identity, and adapt to the era in which the show is currently airing. A show limited to the present with a fuzzy 1970s high-school backstory for Homer and Marge-which feels increasingly unrealistic-would ultimately be much worse for creating compelling stories.”

Similar to many games released today, Digimon Story: Time Stranger was available in several versions before it launched. Besides the Standard Edition, players could choose a Digital Deluxe Edition which included extra content like a Season Pass. A more expensive $120 Ultimate Edition with even more digital goodies, and a Collector’s Edition were also offered. A lot of players believed that for that price, the Ultimate Edition should have definitely included all available extras for Time Stranger at launch. However, that wasn’t the case, and some players are very upset about it.

From now until 1:00 PM EST on October 6th, Steam and Steam Deck players can get the 2017 shooter Zomborg for free, instead of its regular price of $5. Created by GameDevLab-who first launched with this game and hasn’t released anything on Steam since-and published by GrabTheGames, Zomborg currently has a “Mixed” rating on Steam. This is because only 59% of the 126 user reviews are positive. While this isn’t a great result, and it’s questionable whether the game is worth $5 normally, it’s currently free. As a free download, it’s definitely worth adding to your Steam library.
