The latest Steam survey from November 2025 shows a predictable increase in Windows 11 users. With Windows 10 no longer supported, many users have been upgrading, resulting in a 2% gain for Windows 11 on the Steam platform.
Linux also saw a small increase in users, rising by 0.15%. This follows a milestone reached in October 2025 when Linux surpassed 3% of Steam users, now accounting for 3.20% overall. However, Windows still dominates with 94.79% of the user base, and Windows 11 is now used by 65.59% of Steam players.
Since Microsoft is integrating AI into many of its products, like Windows 11 and even Notepad, it should also focus on helping people with common frustrations. At the very least, AI could tackle the problem of spam emails, which waste time and, more seriously, can be used to defraud individuals and businesses.
