Surgent Studios decided to release FixForce themselves after seeing how much fun and unpredictable energy it created during development, according to founder Abubakar Salim. He explained that while FixForce is a departure from their previous, more serious games dealing with difficult themes like grief and abuse, they wanted to create something lighthearted and enjoyable. Salim jokingly assured fans they would return to making darker, more emotionally challenging games after this project.

According to one executive, 2025 was a year for the company to refocus. They felt the gaming division had spread itself too thin by pursuing too many different game series with too many studios. Although LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and Game of Thrones: Dragonfire are being released this year (with Dragonfire already available in some areas), the company anticipates seeing the biggest results from their efforts in 2027 and 2028 when they return to their most popular franchises.

Currently, Scream 7 has a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 37 critic reviews. This is the lowest score in the Scream series since Scream 3 received a 45% rating. This is a significant drop from the previous two films, Scream (2022) and Scream VI, which were both highly rated with scores of 76% and 77% respectively.

The popular online shooter Warface, also known as Warface: Clutch since 2020, is being discontinued. Originally created by Crytek and later managed by MY.Games, the PC version will shut down on May 27th, with the console version following on August 25th. The reason for the staggered shutdown dates isn’t known. Players can still enjoy the game until then, but after those dates, it will no longer be available to play or download.

Darth Maul returned in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and has been a significant character in the franchise ever since. However, 2026 will be a landmark year for him, as he’ll lead his own series, Maul – Shadow Lord. This show is unique because it focuses on a villain, and the title intentionally highlights that Maul has abandoned the title of “Darth.” Having been betrayed by Palpatine, he’s trying to survive during the difficult era of the Empire, and the title initially suggests he’s becoming a powerful force independent of both the Jedi and the Sith. But that impression is misleading.

There are so many Green Lanterns on Earth that it’s tough for them all to get their moment to shine. While Hal Jordan is the main focus, heroes like Jessica Cruz and Guy Gardner have played supporting roles. DC Comics deserves credit for trying to give everyone a chance, but some Green Lanterns haven’t been featured enough. Now, with Hal Jordan embarking on a new journey, a popular character will finally get to be the only Green Lantern protecting Earth.

The game MADO MONOGATARI: Fia and the Wondrous Academy was first released in Japan on November 28, 2024, and became available in Western regions on July 29, 2025.
