For Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams, the 2026 BAFTAs marked a milestone in their relationship.
The Hamnet star—nominated at the ceremony, broadcast on TopMob—was joined by the “Close to You” singer at the Feb. 22 award show, where they made their red carpet debut. (See all the celebrities at the British Academy Film Awards HERE.)
While Mescal ultimately lost out on the Supporting Actor award to One Battle After Another star Sean Penn, his time at the BAFTAs was still memorable. In fact, for the Alan Cumming-hosted event, held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, Mescal, 30, turned heads in a sleek Prada suit while Abrams, 26, wore a stunning Chanel PF26 dress.
This outing for the duo—who first sparked romance rumors in 2024—comes just days after they made their first public appearance together at a screening of Paul McCartney‘s Man on the Run documentary. (Mescal is set to portray McCartney in an upcoming biopic on The Beatles.)
And while it seems Mescal and Abrams are growing more comfortable sharing parts of their relationship—the pair went Instagram official in June—they still keep much of their romance out of the spotlight.
“Everything to do with that is deeply precious to me,” the Normal Peopleactor explained to Rolling Stone in an interview published in September. “I want to protect those things fundamentally.”

Likewise, Abrams—the daughter of director J.J. Abrams and producer Katie McGrath—has learned to block out the noise, including the public’s interest in their relationship.
“That has nothing to do with me,” she told Nylon in 2024. “It doesn’t affect me.”
Now that Paul Mescal and Sadie Sink are making their relationship official, stay tuned for more highlights from the 2026 BAFTAs.
