The *Child’s Play* series is a hugely popular and well-known slasher franchise, right up there with classics like *Halloween* and *Scream*. Starting in 1988, the story of the killer doll Chucky – originally voiced by Brad Dourif and later by Mark Hamill – has become a pop culture staple, leading to seven sequels and a television show. It hasn’t always been easy to find all the movies in one place, but Peacock has given fans an early Halloween gift with a special offer.
Peacock now has most of the *Child’s Play* movies available for streaming. Starting September 1st, you can watch seven of the eight films, including *Child’s Play 2*, *Child’s Play 3*, *Bride of Chucky*, *Seed of Chucky*, *Curse of Chucky*, *Cult of Chucky*, and the 2019 *Child’s Play* reboot. The original 1988 *Child’s Play* movie isn’t on Peacock, but you can find it on MGM+, AMC+, and Philo. The series follows Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer whose spirit inhabits a Good Guy doll, leading to a violent spree.
Why You Should Watch the Child’s Play Franchise
The *Child’s Play* series is simply a lot of fun to watch. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, embracing the silly idea of a killer doll. What makes Chucky stand out is the contrast between his innocent look and his truly evil nature – he’s a foul-mouthed serial killer trapped inside a doll! This makes him a much more unique villain than the typical killers you see in movies like *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre* or *Friday the 13th*. The series successfully combines the scary and gory elements of slasher films with dark humor and satire, offering a refreshing and often absurdly violent take on the genre.
For decades, the *Child’s Play* series has consistently remained popular. Unlike many horror franchises that lose steam, *Child’s Play* has continually updated itself with new technology and social themes, keeping it fresh and interesting for fans. This evolution even extended to a television series called *Chucky*.
Other Horror Franchises Now on Peacock
Horror fans have a lot to look forward to on Peacock this fall! September brought classic movies from franchises like *Child’s Play*, *Amityville Horror*, and Universal Monsters, including *Halloween II* and *Halloween III: Season of the Witch*. And October will add even more thrills with titles from *Friday the 13th*, *Leprechaun*, *Texas Chainsaw Massacre*, and *Scream*.
In September 2025, a variety of individual films were added, such as *1408*, *The Birds*, *Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark*, *The Sixth Sense*, *Werewolf of London*, and *When a Stranger Calls*.
