Clint Eastwood is a true Hollywood icon and a remarkably talented figure in the entertainment world. Over his impressive 70-year career, he’s excelled as an actor in classic films like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Million Dollar Baby, and as a director and producer of acclaimed movies such as Unforgiven and American Sniper. Fans looking to stream one of his lesser-known but compelling dramas should hurry, as it will soon be leaving Peacock.
As a big Clint Eastwood fan, I always make a point to check out his films. So, when I saw Changeling was streaming on Peacock, I quickly added it to my watchlist. It came out in 2008, right after he did Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, and in the same year as Gran Torino – a really busy time for him! The movie’s a gripping mystery and crime drama, based on the true story of the Wineville Chicken Coop murders from 1928. It’s set in Los Angeles and stars Angelina Jolie as a mother whose kidnapped son is returned, but she quickly realizes something isn’t right. The authorities don’t believe her, and things take a really dark turn when she’s wrongly committed to a psychiatric ward. Sadly, it’s already been flagged as leaving Peacock soon, so I’m glad I’m watching it now before it disappears!
Clint Eastwood’s Changeling Is a Haunting True-Story Drama That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked
It’s unfortunate that Changeling often gets overlooked in Clint Eastwood’s extensive body of work. This film is a particularly strong example of his directing, demonstrating his talent for bringing historical settings to life – the 1920s Los Angeles feels incredibly real – and tackling challenging themes. Angelina Jolie delivers a phenomenal performance as Christine Collins, a real woman at the center of this gripping true story. Changeling is ideal for those who enjoy dramatic thrillers and true crime, offering a heartbreaking account of a mother’s relentless search for her son. The film skillfully combines intense emotion, suspense, and social criticism, revealing the injustices of early Los Angeles.
Changeling is a truly captivating film based on a real story that will keep you completely absorbed and likely leave you deeply moved. It’s a haunting and powerful movie that lingers in your thoughts long after it ends, and it’s a real gem that deserves to be seen. Although critics gave it a middling score of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences clearly loved it, giving it an impressive 81% rating on the Popcornmeter.
Where to Stream Changeling After It Leaves Peacock?
If you’re a fan of Clint Eastwood, now’s a good time to watch Changeling. It’s currently only streaming on Peacock, and it doesn’t look like it will be added to other major streaming services in February 2026. This means it might be removed from Peacock soon. You’ll still be able to rent or buy the movie online, and it could become available on streaming again in the future, but there’s no guarantee.
