This led to a renewal for a third season last year. As the third season nears release, the cast has grown to include a well-known actor from the Star Wars franchise in a major role.
Mark Hamill will be appearing in Season 3 of Twisted Metal, according to Deadline. He’s set to play Pope Charlie Kane, a significant recurring character who leads the Eastern Sovereignty and happens to be Sweet Tooth’s father.
Anthony Mackie, star and executive producer of Twisted Metal, expressed his excitement about Mark Hamill joining the show. He shared that he’s long admired Hamill as a legendary actor who has inspired many, and feels honored to now work alongside him. Mackie is eager to see what Hamill will bring to the series.
Hamill Is Joining Twisted Metal at an Interesting Time For The Peacock Action Series
The addition of Sam Neill (known as Hamill in some circles) to the cast of Twisted Metal is great news, and it comes at a pivotal moment for the show. Twisted Metal was recently renewed for a third season—after Season 2 ended on a thrilling cliffhanger—but there have been some significant changes behind the scenes. David Reed, known for his work on The Boys, is now the showrunner, replacing Michael Jonathan Smith. Adding to the changes, Mike Mitchell, who played Stu, won’t be returning for Season 3. This is particularly noteworthy because Stu won the Twisted Metal tournament at the end of Season 2, suggesting he would have a larger role in the next installment.
With Mitchell leaving and new people in charge, it’s hard to say what viewers can expect from the next season of the show. However, adding Mark Hamill to the cast is exciting! Though many know him as Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, he’s also played a lot of complicated characters – like his famous portrayal of The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series and more recently, The Major in The Long Walk.
