With anticipation building for the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, it’s been revealed that one actor from the original show will not make a comeback.
In a recent statement, Sam Claflin, who portrayed historical fascist Oswald Mosley in the series for its fifth and sixth seasons, confirmed that the character will not reappear in the movie following the season 6 finale where Mosley married Diana Mitford in Germany during 1936.
Beyond just knowing who’s cast and a few team members, I’m absolutely thrilled about what’s to come!
In a future version of Peaky Blinders, Claflin mentioned the possibility of reprising my role: “There’s hope that he’s still around. After all, Oswald Mosley lived until 84. He continues to exist in this universe, whether or not he’s actively involved.
I’ve been told that the movie is presumably set in the future. It seems like Oswald Mosley was gradually losing influence and support during the war period.

Anticipated release of the Peaky Blinders film is slated for a period encompassing the Second World War, specifically around the years 1939 to 1945.
Previously, creator Steven Knight hinted at an unexplored tale set during World War II that will feature Peaky Blinders characters.
It was also revealed that Claflin isn’t the only cast member not returning. Earlier this year, Kate Phillips, who portrayed Linda Shelby, informed TopMob that her involvement in the film is nonexistent, stating “There were talks, but unfortunately it didn’t work out.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the stellar cast of this upcoming series includes Cillian Murphy, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Ian Peck, and Packy Lee. But get ready for some exciting additions to the roster with Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo joining the fray!
At the start of this year, during the promotion of his series A Thousand Blows, Knight hinted at Graham’s appearance in the upcoming film, remarking: “Rest assured, he will appear and exceed your expectations. And indeed, he delivers in the Peaky Blinders movie.
