The actors from Percy Jackson and the Olympians have addressed fan concerns about how the show will differ from the books in its second season.
In the next installment, Percy embarks on a dangerous sea voyage to the Sea of Monsters. He’s on a mission to rescue his friend Grover and protect Camp Half-Blood, and the story is adapted from the second book in Rick Riordan’s popular fantasy series.
There are some additional changes in this season compared to the first, but the actors Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) and Daniel Diemer (Tyson) have reassured fans that everything will be alright.
Goodjohn shared with TopMob that he believes fans will be very happy with the changes. He admitted to feeling a bit anxious whenever changes are made, understanding how deeply connected fans are to the books – they feel like family to them.
You naturally worry about how people will react, but then you keep watching and realize it’s done incredibly well. I think fans of the book will be really happy with it.

Diemer explained that while things might evolve, the core essence of the stories and characters stays consistent, and that’s what truly matters.
The creators don’t seem focused on reinventing the story, but rather on delivering a complete show while staying true to the spirit of Percy Jackson. If that’s what fans want, I think they’ll be really pleased.
Rick Riordan, the creator of the series, shared in an interview with TopMob that he felt optimistic about how fans would react to the changes they’d made. He explained they had spent a lot of time discussing these adjustments.

Everyone on the team understands how important the original books are to fans, and we’re all aware of their expectations. We don’t feel restricted by that, but we definitely feel a responsibility to honor the source material and treat it with respect. It’s great that we all share that same approach. Adapting a story from books to another format always requires some changes, and we keep that in mind.
It’s still to be seen exactly what’s new and how fans will react, but one thing is certain: everyone is excited to go back to Camp Half-Blood.
