Lizzo has the juice at all sizes.
Following Lizzo’s impressive weight loss journey, Pete Davidson playfully teased the “About Damn Time” singer at the Kevin Hart roast, which debuted on Netflix on May 10th.
Pete joked from the stage, “Is that Lizzo, or did Eddie Murphy just introduce a new member of the Klump family? It’s Hercules! Hercules!”
Lizzo reacted playfully to Pete’s joke, bursting into laughter and clapping her hands. He’d referenced the movie The Nutty Professor, which features a scientist who is overweight and tries to create a potion to lose weight.
The 38-year-old has noticeably lost weight in recent months and revealed in June 2025 that she briefly used weight loss medications, specifically GLP-1 drugs, to help.
I was really fascinated to hear Lizzo talk about her experiences on the Just Trish podcast. She explained that, as she understands it, Ozempic works by helping you eat less – basically, it makes you feel fuller. But she also pointed out something really important: if you can achieve that same feeling of fullness and control your eating naturally, it’s essentially the same result! It’s all about getting your mind right and taking control, which is a message I really connected with.
She ended up ditching the injectables and, instead, made a major change to her eating habits.
Lizzo explained that stopping her vegan diet really made a difference for her. She said that when she was vegan, she relied heavily on processed meat substitutes, bread, and rice, and she had to eat large quantities of those foods to feel satisfied.
So now that she’s added meat back into her diet, she’s eating less “fake sugar and weird stuff.”
Lizzo explained that when she began eating real, whole foods like meat and fish, she felt genuinely full, unlike before when she’d fill up on processed foods that didn’t satisfy her.

That’s why Lizzo encourages everyone to love themselves, emphasizing that she always feels better after exercising. She prioritizes mental health and sees exercise as a fantastic way to boost her mood, and she’s never regretted a workout.

I’ve been a huge Lizzo fan for ages, and honestly, seeing her recent changes has sparked a lot of discussion. People are questioning if she still represents body positivity the way she used to, but she’s been really clear about still believing in and championing that message, and I support her completely.
Body positivity isn’t about maintaining a certain appearance,” she told Women’s Health last summer. “It’s about boldly and proudly accepting yourself, even when society tries to tell you that you shouldn’t.
Honestly, Lizzo just gets it. She’s always preaching self-love, and it’s so real. She says she never regrets a workout, and I totally feel that! For her, and for me, it’s not even about how you look – it’s about how you feel. She’s right, exercise is the absolute best way to boost your mood. It’s like, she prioritizes her mental health first, and I’m so here for it! She just radiates positivity and inspires me to take care of myself, inside and out.

Lizzo has shared that she’s been in on “intentional weight release journey” since 2023.
Let’s be real, navigating a career in the public eye isn’t always glamorous. That year, I also dealt with a lawsuit from some former dancers who claimed the work environment was tough and that I’d made comments about weight. Honestly, those accusations were completely untrue, and I strongly refuted them. It was a difficult time, but I stood my ground and defended myself against those claims.
I’m driven by a strong work ethic and I always aim for the best,” she shared on Instagram. “Leading a team sometimes requires tough choices, but I never want anyone to feel unimportant or uncomfortable.
She shared that she understands what it’s like to be judged for your body, and emphasized that she would never fire or criticize someone at work because of their weight.
While not currently working on an album, the singer of “About Damn Time” shared in August 2024 that she was taking a break to focus on her well-being.

Lizzo admittedly has her ups and downs when it comes to her body.
She admitted to The New York Times in April 2024 that she doesn’t love her body every day. She explained that how you feel about your body is constantly changing – some days she feels great, and other days she doesn’t feel as confident.

On September 18, 2024, Lizzo shared a before-and-after video on TikTok. It showed her first in a black two-piece outfit, then transitioning to a gray bodysuit.
As she captioned the clip, “Fine both ways.”

Okay, so can you BELIEVE it? After FIVE months of seriously killing it at the gym and actually sticking to a diet, people are still trying to say I lost weight because of Ozempic! I literally posted about it on Instagram yesterday – it’s so frustrating! Like, hello? Hard work and dedication, people! But yeah, that’s what I said – finally getting those accusations after all that effort!

The Grammy-winning artist was spotted having lunch at Nobu on September 27th. She wore a see-through black and white dress by Jean Paul Gaultier over a black bodysuit, and finished the outfit with a leather trench coat, large silver hoop earrings, and black sunglasses.

She explained in a TikTok post on September 30, 2024, that she’d eaten too much the day before and was feeling upset about it. She was working on reminding herself that her body needed the food and that it’s okay to be kind to herself, both physically and mentally.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been noticing a really inspiring trend with celebrities embracing TikTok to share their wellness journeys! This particular singer has been super open about her fitness motivation, and recently shared a really relatable tip on how she powers through tough workouts. It’s all about finding that inner strength and sharing it with her followers, which I think is fantastic!
I was on the Stairmaster today and challenged myself with a higher level than usual,” the actress shared in October 2024. “I realized I was pushing too hard and had to slow down to keep going. It reminded me that when you feel like quitting, it’s often because you need to ease up a little – don’t give up, just be kinder to yourself.

Lizzo announced on Instagram on January 25, 2025, that she’s reached a personal weight goal. She said she hasn’t weighed this little since 2014 and wants to inspire others to pursue their own dreams, reminding everyone that anything is possible with dedication. She’s now looking forward to setting new challenges for herself!

Lizzo looked hella good in Christian Siriano at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party March 2.

Back in action as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live April 12, 2025.

On July 3, 2025, Lizzo posted a comparison showing the results of her first lymphatic massage with Flavia Lanini and how her body looked after more recent sessions.
She attributes her improved health to a combination of treatments and lifestyle changes. These included a specialized fluid drainage therapy, wood therapy, regular exercise (including pickleball and dancing), staying hydrated, reducing sugar intake, increasing protein consumption, monthly detoxes, and other positive adjustments.

Lizzo, while performing at Coachella 2026, announced on April 2nd that she’d recently reached a two-month milestone of sobriety.
