We realize this might be controversial, and many Robin Williams fans will disagree, but Sally Field believes Pierce Brosnan is actually the funnier actor.
The film in question…
She recently shared this story on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show, recalling her time filming the 1993 movie Mrs. Doubtfire. The film was a massive success – made on a budget of just $25 million, it ultimately earned $441 million worldwide.
It’s no surprise that Robin Williams was the class clown on the set of Mrs. Doubtfire, constantly improvising and making everyone laugh. However, Sally Field was an exception – his constant joking actually frustrated him.
“It really bothered him,” Field explained. “It wasn’t amusing at all, not even a little. Robin constantly tried new things to get a laugh out of me, but it just wasn’t funny. I honestly can’t describe how unfunny it was.”
Funnier than Robin Williams….
According to Field, Pierce Brosnan is funnier than Robin Williams because of a hilarious moment she witnessed: while at a restaurant, Brosnan made a fart noise with his arm, which immediately had her in stitches.
Personally we prefer Brosnan as James Bond but maybe he is a secret stand up after all!
Robin Williams died by suicide in his Tiburon, California home in August 2014 at the age of 63. His final film role was in ‘Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb’.
