Pikmin 3 Deluxe rated for Switch 2 in Europe

Pan European Game Information has rated a Switch 2 version of Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is an enhanced version of the original Pikmin 3 game, which was first released on the Wii U. It came out on the Nintendo Switch in October 2020. As of now, Nintendo hasn’t said whether they plan to release a version for the Switch 2.

So, I’ve been playing Pikmin 4 – it came out on the Switch back in July 2023 – and they just dropped a free update! It’s pretty cool, adding some new Pikmin decorations from Pikmin Bloom, a camera to take pictures in the game, and a couple of ways to tweak the difficulty. It’s awesome they’re still supporting the game, though it doesn’t look like they’ve added anything special for the rumored new Switch console yet.

This special edition of Pikmin 3 adds new side stories with Olimar and Louie, lets you play the main story with a friend, and includes all the extra levels that were originally released as downloadable content. If you’re up for a challenge, you can also compete against another player in exciting Bingo Battles!

When their home planet faces starvation, three courageous explorers journey to planet PNF-404 in search of food. A rough landing forces them to team up with the Pikmin, tiny plant-like creatures, to overcome the challenges ahead and achieve their goal.

Command different types of Pikmin – each with unique skills like flying or swimming – to overcome obstacles and gather fruit. Carefully select the Pikmin best suited for each task, and switch between three captains (or team up with a friend!) to efficiently expand your Pikmin team.

If you’re taking a break from gathering fruit and protecting your planet, check out Mission mode! It lets you complete specific challenges, like defeating enemies or finding items. You can even see how your scores stack up against other players worldwide on online leaderboards. For some head-to-head fun, try Bingo Battle, where you race against an opponent to collect items on your bingo card using your Pikmin.

This latest installment of Pikmin offers more ways to play with friends, a welcoming experience for new players, extra side stories, and the most expansive adventure yet for these little plant-like creatures.
