PlayStation Plus members on PS5 and PS4 are really impressed with a free game that was previously offered on the service. The game was available to all subscribers last September, regardless of their plan. It’s never been part of the PS Plus Extra or Premium game libraries, and isn’t available now, so if you didn’t download it then, you can’t get it anymore. If you already have it, it might be worth checking out!
PlayStation Plus members on Reddit have been enthusiastically praising Xbox and Double Fine’s Psychonauts 2. The game received high scores – between 87 and 91 on Metacritic – and was nominated for five Game Awards, including Game of the Year, so this positive reaction isn’t unexpected. While Psychonauts 2 didn’t achieve blockbuster sales, players who tried it were generally very impressed, and PlayStation Plus subscribers are proving to be no different.
“I’m Blown Away”
A recent post on the PS Plus Reddit page expressed surprise at how much someone is enjoying Psychonauts 2. The player initially added the game to their library last year when it was a free monthly offering, but only recently started playing. They’re now really impressed with it, particularly praising the beautiful art design, even on the PS4 version.
People are calling this Xbox game a “hidden gem” and praising it as excellent. Remarkably, all the comments are positive, which is unusual. If you own the game but haven’t played it yet, expect to spend around 15 to 20 hours completing it. Those aiming for 100% completion can likely expect to spend between 25 and 30 hours.
Just a reminder that you’ll need an active PlayStation Plus subscription to play this game, even if you previously added it to your library. This applies to all games offered through PS Plus. If you don’t have access to this particular game right now, don’t worry! PlayStation Plus has recently added a highly-rated RPG with over 140 hours of gameplay.
