PlayStation is hosting its last State of Play event for 2025 today, and it will highlight games developed in Japan and other Asian countries. The announcement earlier this week was a surprise, as many people didn’t expect another presentation before the year’s end. Fortunately, PlayStation has more to share about upcoming PS5 games before 2026, which is exciting news for players.
Want to watch today’s State of Play? Here’s how and what to expect from the livestream.
How to Watch State of Play Japan

Today’s State of Play Japan broadcast starts at 5pm Eastern Time / 2pm Pacific Time. The show, hosted by actor Yuki Kaji, is expected to last about 40 minutes. Unlike previous broadcasts, you can only watch this State of Play on YouTube.
One important thing to know about this State of Play presentation is that it will only be available with Japanese audio. If you don’t understand Japanese, you’ll need to turn on subtitles to follow along.
What to Expect From This State of Play

PlayStation hasn’t revealed which games will be featured in the upcoming State of Play Japan showcase. However, since the event will focus on games created in Japan and Asia, we can reasonably predict some of the titles that might appear.
I think Capcom will soon share updates on Resident Evil Requiem, as the game is scheduled to come out in February 2026. They’ve been quiet about Requiem lately, so we might learn more at the upcoming State of Play event. We could also get a new look at Pragmata.
I’m hoping we’ll get an update on Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls during this State of Play presentation. This game, announced earlier this year, is a collaboration between PlayStation, Marvel, and Arc System Works. We haven’t heard a release date yet, and if PlayStation is planning to showcase its exclusive games, Marvel Tokon would be a great choice for a new reveal.
Besides the main announcements we’re expecting, publishers like Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Konami, Sega, and Koei Tecmo might also have some news to share. It’s still uncertain if they’ll be involved in today’s State of Play, but if they are, it will definitely make the event even more exciting.
