PlayStation will be holding another State of Play broadcast today, June 2nd, offering a look at what’s coming in 2026. This is the second State of Play this year; the first, in February, revealed games like Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, John Wick, and a remake of the God of War Trilogy. While we don’t know exactly what will be shown in June, here’s when you can tune in to find out.
State of Play Start Time and Where to Watch
PlayStation’s State of Play event is happening today, June 2nd, starting at 5pm Eastern Time / 2pm Pacific Time. You can watch it live on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels. They’re also showing it at certain Alamo Drafthouse cinemas across the US.
PlayStation has announced that the upcoming State of Play will be about an hour long. That’s shorter than the February event, but we can still expect some significant announcements from PlayStation and other game developers.
What to Expect From This New State of Play
So, PlayStation’s State of Play is coming up, and right now the only game they’ve officially said will be there is Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac. Since Wolverine is supposed to come out in September, I’m expecting we’ll get a really good, long look at gameplay during the showcase – probably the best one yet before the game actually launches!
Besides Marvel’s Wolverine, there’s growing talk that PlayStation will soon announce a new God of War game. The game is expected to be directed by Cory Barlog and will likely focus on the story of Faye, Kratos’s late wife. This spin-off has been rumored for a while, and PlayStation is expected to reveal it in an upcoming presentation.
PlayStation announced this State of Play further in advance than usual, likely to maximize viewership. Along with showing the presentation in movie theaters, this suggests it will be a larger event than typical, potentially with significant news about the future of the PS5.
