PlayStation State of Play Leak Reveals God of War and Infamous PS5 Announcements

Ahead of Sony’s PlayStation showcase on June 2nd, details about the event have begun to leak online. Sony has officially announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will be a major focus of the one-hour presentation, but hasn’t revealed much else. While official information is limited, rumors and leaks are circulating – some are unreliable, but others have gained traction among PlayStation fans.

According to recent reports from Red Gaming Tech, the upcoming PlayStation State of Play presentation could feature announcements for three games. The biggest news is a new God of War game starring Faye – not Kratos – which has reportedly been in development for some time and may come with a release window. A new Infamous game is also rumored to be revealed, though the source is less certain about that. Finally, there’s a possibility of a Resident Evil announcement, but it’s unclear whether it will be a completely new game, a remake, or downloadable content for Resident Evil Requiem.

A Huge PlayStation State of Play

Sony is planning a PlayStation State of Play presentation soon, but it seems unlikely they’ll announce both a new God of War and Infamous game at the same event, based on how they’ve handled similar situations in the past. Typically, when Sony has announcements of that magnitude, they hold a larger “Showcase” event to differentiate it from smaller presentations. However, if the Infamous announcement isn’t a completely new game – perhaps a re-release or remaster – that would make more sense. This would allow them to highlight Marvel’s Wolverine and give God of War a major reveal without overshadowing other announcements.

Keep in mind that all of this is based on unconfirmed reports, and things could easily change. Sony doesn’t usually respond to rumors, particularly before a big announcement like a State of Play, and we don’t anticipate they will this time. However, we’ll be sure to update this article if any official information becomes available.
