Ever dreamed of being in a PlayStation game? Sony is now offering a program called The Playerbase that lets them scan you and include your digital likeness in a PS5 game!
One lucky Gran Turismo 7 fan will have their image featured in the game as a character portrait for a limited time! The winner will also get to create a car decal that will be permanently available in the game. To enter, you’ll need to apply through the provided link, and the winner will be flown to a Los Angeles studio for a scan and to design their decal.
So, PlayStation is letting people apply to become official ‘Playerbase’ members! They’ll be doing video interviews to get to know us and see how much we love PlayStation. Basically, they’re looking for people who really connect with the brand. Right now, it’s starting with Gran Turismo 7, but Sony hinted they want to include more of their games in the future, which is awesome! I’m definitely applying – imagine getting to help shape the games we play!
PlayStation’s new ‘Playerbase’ program is a thank you to its community, the players who have made PlayStation what it is today,” explained Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing. “We’re excited to connect with fans and offer them a fresh way to experience the PlayStation universe.”
For years, sports games like NBA 2K and WWE 2K have let you create a digital version of yourself using smartphone apps. But The Playerbase is taking a more professional approach, aiming to realistically place your likeness into a major game developed and published directly by the game company.
