Pokemon Go Has One More New Pokemon Debut For 2025 (Here’s How to Get It)

Even with the chilly weather, there’s still plenty happening in Pokemon Go. The yearly Winter Holiday event is currently running, and Part 1 introduced Pokemon like Sudowoodo and Charjabug wearing festive costumes. While it’s always exciting to see new costumed Pokemon, many players are most excited about the new Pokemon that are added to the game. And Pokemon Go‘s Winter Holiday Part 2 is delivering one last new Pokemon for the year: Rolycoly, and its entire evolution line!

The second part of the Pokémon Go Winter Holiday event starts December 24th at 10 AM and ends December 29th at 8 PM (local time). The big news is the arrival of Galarian Rolycoly, along with its evolutions, Carkol and Coalossal. You can also expect to see lots of Ice-type Pokémon and Pokémon wearing festive costumes during the event!

How to Get Rolycoly in Pokemon Go

Rolycoly is coming to Pokemon Go on December 24th, 2025, as part of the Winter Holiday Part 2 event! The good news is you’ll be able to find and catch it in the wild. While it won’t be super common – the event description says it’s a rare encounter – Rolycoly will be appearing alongside other Ice-type Pokemon during the event.

During the event, you can find Rolycoly appearing in the wild and as a One-Star Raid Boss. If you win a One-Star Raid against Rolycoly, you’ll have a chance to catch it. The best part is, One-Star Raids are usually easy enough to complete on your own, which is great for players who don’t have access to gyms or other players!

You can evolve Rolycoly into Carkol by collecting 25 Rolycoly Candy. After that, it takes another 100 Rolycoly Candy to evolve Carkol into Coalossal. It’s a straightforward evolution – no special steps needed!

Winter Holiday Part 2 Event Bonuses & Costumed Pokemon

The second part of the Winter Holiday event is starting, featuring the first appearance of Rolycoly, as well as new bonuses and Pokemon wearing special costumes. Here’s what all players can expect during the event:

  • Extra reward items for catching event-themed Pokemon in the wild (TMs, Silver Pinap Berries, Golden Razz Berries, and Rare Candy)
  • Increased chances to encounter Shiny Stantler in holiday attire and Shiny Dedenne in its holiday costume

During the Winter Holiday 2025 event, players can earn extra rewards by completing challenges in the free Go Pass. These rewards include things like bonus XP and Stardust when opening gifts, and it will be easier to hatch Eggs. You can track your progress in the Research tab when the event begins.

In addition to Stantler and Dedenne wearing festive costumes, a few other Pokémon will be dressed up for the holidays during the second part of the Winter Holiday event. Here’s a list of the costumed Pokémon and how to obtain them:

  • Stantler (Wild Spawn)
  • Dedenne (Wild Spawn)
  • Pichu (7 KM Eggs)
  • Cubchoo (7 KM eggs)
  • Sudowodo (Three-Star Raids)
  • Charjabug (Three-Star Raids)
  • Eevee (Winter Weekend Timed Research from December 27th to 28th)

Winter Holiday Part 2 is a fun event with good opportunities to find Shiny Pokémon, and it introduces a brand-new Pokémon to the game! It’s the perfect reason to step away from your holiday plans for a little while and enjoy some Pokémon catching.
