Pokemon Go Players Aren’t Convinced This Rare New Pokemon Actually Exists

Halloween is bringing some fun activities to Pokemon Go before November arrives. While Mimikyu isn’t being added to the game just yet, there are still new Pokemon appearing. This year’s Halloween event introduces Poltchageist, along with a chance to find the rare Shiny version of Sinistea. However, many players are having trouble locating Poltchageist, especially its artisan form.

This year, many Pokemon Go players are successfully finding Shiny Sinistea, and even the rarer Shiny Authentic Sinistea is appearing fairly often. However, the new Pokemon Poltchageist is proving to be extremely rare, leading some players to wonder if the first part of the Halloween event ended sooner than expected. While Poltchageist isn’t showing up on the in-game map, it is still available as part of the event until October 27th, so it’s unclear why it feels so hard to find.

Poltchageist Raids Are Rare, But They Do Exist

Poltchageist first appeared in Pokémon Go on October 21st as a challenging boss in one-star raids. It’s not the first new Pokémon to be unavailable for regular map encounters during its launch event, but these raids are proving very difficult to find. Many players are searching on Campfire and the in-game map and are only finding a single Poltchageist raid, despite the event still being active.

Many Pokémon Go players are wondering if both forms of Poltchageist are actually in the game, since it’s so rare. Some have even seen search results claiming the Artisan form isn’t available yet, but that’s not true. You can catch Artisan Poltchageist by completing Poltchageist Raids – it’s just much rarer than the Counterfeit form. Considering how uncommon those raids are to begin with, it’s understandable why some players haven’t encountered one.

Poltchageist Raids don’t happen very often, so many Pokémon Go players are using Remote Raids to try and catch one. This lets them easily team up with friends who find a Raid on the map and attempt to get the rare Artisan Form Poltchageist. Players have been sharing pictures online to prove that the Artisan Form is available in the game. If you want to know which form of Poltchageist you’ve caught, you can use the Appraise feature – just like one player did to discover they had an Artisan Poltchageist!

People are eager to join Remote Raids to catch this Pokémon, showing it’s been difficult to find locally. This is particularly challenging for players in rural areas where there aren’t many Gyms where Raids can happen.

Want to catch Poltchageist in Pokémon Go? Your best chance is to join a Remote Raid before the Halloween Part 1 event finishes on October 27th. After that, it might be a long time before it appears again. Check out sites like Campfire to find players hosting Raids. Poltchageist is a pretty easy Raid boss – only One-Star – so you won’t need a large group to defeat it. If you’re not seeing Poltchageist appearing on your local Pokémon Go map, you might need a Remote Raid invite.
