Despite being a somewhat controversial entry, Pokémon Legends: Z-A remains popular with players on the Nintendo Switch 2, even half a year after its initial release.
To keep players engaged and attract new ones, Game Freak is adding limited-time free content to the JRPG while also removing some of the content that’s been available since the game first launched.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Offering a Free Gift for a Limited Time
Players of Pokémon Legends: Z-A have until the end of March to redeem a special, limited-time Mystery Gift code. Once March 31st passes, the code will no longer be usable.
Before the game officially launches, fans can use the code “PREPAR1NG” to get a helpful starter pack: 5 Max Revives, 10 Full Restores, and 10 Ultra Balls. These items aren’t necessarily for catching rare Pokémon, but they’ll definitely be useful for anyone aiming to fully complete Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Mega Dimension DLC.
Max Revives and Full Restores usually cost 3,000 Poke Dollars each, and Ultra Balls cost 600 Poke Dollars apiece. Using the code “PREPAR1NG” saves players a significant 51,000 Poke Dollars in total.
Even though the “PREPAR1NG” code might stop working soon, other codes will still be usable, and new Mystery Gifts will keep being added to Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Players especially want Mystery Gifts that include highly sought-after Legendary Pokémon and Mega Stones, which allow Pokémon to Mega Evolve.
If you haven’t already gotten the codes for Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Mewtwo X, or Mega Mewtwo Y, you’re in luck! These codes don’t expire, so you can get these popular Mega Stones whenever you’re ready.
Players of Pokémon Legends: Z-A will soon receive Mystery Gifts connected to Pokémon Home and the new mobile game Pokémon Champions, launching on April 8, 2026. Those who own all three games will be eligible for a special giveaway as a thank you for being dedicated Pokémon fans.
Players will receive Chesnaughtite, Delphoxite, Geninjite, and Floettite – the Mega Stones for Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja, and Floette. While many are excited about this, some fans are disappointed by the cost to enter the giveaway. Others are questioning the terms and conditions, which mention these Mega Stones will eventually be available through other means later on.
