Pokemon Legends: Z-A Is Finally Adding Its Most Requested Feature This Week

A highly anticipated feature is coming to Pokemon Legends: Z-A this week. Since the game launched on Switch and Switch 2 in October, The Pokemon Company and Game Freak have consistently added new content, most recently with the Mega Dimensions DLC in December. However, a key part of the Pokemon experience has been missing until now, but that’s about to change.

A highly anticipated feature is finally being added to Pokemon Legends: Z-A: compatibility with Pokemon Home. Pokemon Home, released in 2020, lets players transfer their Pokemon between many different Switch and 3DS games. While Legends: Z-A didn’t initially support Home, the developers promised it would be added later. That update arrives tomorrow, April 2nd, allowing players to transfer Pokemon from the game to Home.

This Pokemon Legends: Z-A Feature Is Arriving at the Perfect Time

It’s not surprising that The Pokémon Company is adding support for Pokémon Home to Pokémon Legends: Z-A just before the launch of Pokémon Champions. Champions, a new free-to-play Pokémon game for Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, releases on April 8th. The game focuses on trainer battles and will let players transfer Pokémon they’ve collected in Pokémon Home. While Pokémon Home is the main place to store your Pokémon, Champions is set to become the central hub for competitive Pokémon battles.

Had Pokemon Champions launched before Pokemon Legends: Z-A was compatible with Pokemon Home, it would have been a significant oversight by The Pokemon Company. Fans would likely have been frustrated, unable to transfer their newly caught Pokemon from Z-A into Champions at the game’s release. Thankfully, The Pokemon Company addressed this potential issue proactively, which also enhances the overall experience of Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
