Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced the next generation of Pokémon games, Pokémon Wind and Waves! Coming in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2, these games will take players to a brand new region filled with water. You can find all the details below.
This region isn’t just about forests, beaches, and charming towns – you can also dive underwater and find lots of Pokémon! Players can choose from three new starter Pokémon: Browt (Grass), Pombon (Fire), and Gecqua (Water). Plus, many familiar favorites like Pikachu, Tangela, Krabby, Wailmer, and Wailord are back to discover.
Honestly, the graphics are really impressive, especially the water – it looks so realistic! And as you’d expect from a game called that, the wind effects are a huge part of it. I noticed the leaves and trees actually move naturally with the wind this time around, which is a nice touch. It feels way more detailed than before.
There are still many unanswered questions, like what the huge tower or resort seen in the images is for, and where it fits into the game’s overall world. Another big question is whether there’s simply too much water in the game. We’ll likely find out more as Nintendo shares details before the game is released.
