It seems there’s a strong possibility that the offerings for PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium in August 2025 could end up being among the standout highlights of the entire year, without getting too ahead of ourselves.
Once more, Extra has compiled an impressive collection of top-tier games. Leading the pack is Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, while Mortal Kombat 1 trails closely behind. Although Mortal Kombat 1 might not have found its stride in competitive arenas, its campaign offers a good chuckle, and the overall production quality is remarkable.
The title “Unicorn Overlord” is available too, and it’s a fantastic choice if you’re yearning for a tactical role-playing experience. Once again, an exquisite creation from the brilliant minds at the Japanese studio Vanillaware.
Additionally, there is the game titled “Sword of the Sea” – an exciting, adventure game similar to Journey, developed by Giant Squid, who have previously created ABZU and The Pathless. Each time it has been displayed, it has looked promising, so we anticipate that its premiere on Extra will be impressive.
In addition to these, you’ll find the thought-provoking indie game Indika, the consistently comedic Earth Defense Force 6, and the uniquely animated Harold Halibut. To top it off, there’s an Atelier game, specifically Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key!
As for Premium’s choices, although the selection might be limited, it certainly doesn’t skimp on quality. Notably, both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 offer a nostalgic feel reminiscent of the PlayStation 1 era.
For August 2025, PlayStation Plus is introducing new offerings called Extra and Premium. What are your thoughts on these? We’d love to hear your opinions! Feel free to share them by voting in our polls and elaborating further in the comments section below.
