We now know the first games coming to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium in 2026, and it looks like Sony’s subscription service is starting the year off well.
Extra is definitely a highlight, and there are eight games in total competing for awards, including the popular Resident Evil Village. Capcom likely strategically timed the release of Village – with its exciting mix of survival horror and action – to build excitement for the next installment, Resident Evil Requiem.
You could say the same thing about Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, especially with Yakuza 3 Kiwami coming out next month.
Infinite Wealth is the newest main installment in the popular Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series. It’s a wild and expansive RPG, and one of the biggest games in the franchise yet. We highly recommend it, but you’ll get even more out of it if you’ve played the earlier games.
Meanwhile, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game provides a unique experience focused on carefully planning routes and navigating challenging landscapes, while A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead returns to the suspense and fear of survival horror.
There’s a fantastic range of games available. Darkest Dungeon 2 offers a challenging and immersive dungeon-crawling experience, The Exit 8 is a surprisingly insightful indie game, and Art of Rally is a cheerful and enjoyable racing title. It’s a great selection – what more could anyone ask for?
Okay, so I’m a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber, and honestly, the game selection is still kinda weak. They only added one game this month – Ridge Racer, which is a total classic from the PS1 days, but it’s just one game for the most expensive tier. It feels a little bare bones, you know?
