Sony recently held a major presentation called State of Play on June 2nd, and it generally lived up to the hype. Based on feedback from our viewers, most people seem to agree!

But what was the standout PS5 game from this latest event? That’s what everyone’s here to find out.

Clearly, Marvel’s Wolverine and God of War Laufey are the two leading candidates.

Both games received extended gameplay presentations. The first was presented as the main event, and the second was intended as a surprise reveal at the end, but unfortunately, details about it were leaked online weeks beforehand.

It’ll be really tough to overcome those two games without a surprising boost, but anything is possible!

Honestly, this State of Play had a lot of awesome PS5 games coming up! I was blown away by how beautiful Rayman Legends Retold looked in its trailer, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis actually feels like the classic Tomb Raider game we’ve been waiting for – it looks really good.

Sony’s partners delivered some impressive content, and Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword continued that trend. The game’s trailer was excellent, and fans were excited to finally get a release date and a playable demo, making it a standout moment.

Plus, games like Silent Hill: Townfall and Control Resonant are also worth mentioning. And I think viewers will especially appreciate the unexpected charm of smaller titles like ILL and The Lost Wild.

Oh, and I nearly forgot – a sequel to Until Dawn is really happening! We even got a good look at some of it.

Reviewing the State of Play now, it was a pretty impressive showcase, all things considered. While it didn’t have quite the same blockbuster announcements as the old E3 presentations, it’s hard to find too much to criticize about what was revealed.
