Netflix has a great variety of movies and shows, but the selection changes regularly as new titles are added and others are removed. Right now, Power Rangers fans should be aware that a popular Power Rangers series will soon be leaving Netflix, so if you haven’t seen it yet, now’s the time!
Netflix has several Power Rangers shows and movies, but only one is currently scheduled to be removed. That’s the 2017 Power Rangers movie, a fresh take on the classic series that many fans enjoy. You still have time to watch it – make sure to check it out before it’s gone from Netflix on March 6th, 2026.
What Was The Power Rangers Reboot?
The 2017 Power Rangers movie received a large marketing push, featured updated costumes, and introduced a fresh cast of young actors. The new Ranger suits had a distinctly alien look, and the film reimagined the series’ backstory, revealing that Zordon (played by Bryan Cranston) and Rita Repulsa (played by Elizabeth Banks) were originally teammates before becoming rivals.
The movie cost about $100 million to produce and was intended to launch a series of films. However, it only earned $85 million in the US and $142 million globally. Considering typical marketing costs, a film usually needs to earn twice its budget to be profitable, meaning Power Rangers likely lost money and a sequel won’t be made.
Despite its flaws, the Power Rangers reboot successfully updated the franchise for a modern audience. The cast was incredibly talented and had the potential to star in many sequels, had the films continued. Plans for a sequel even hinted at bringing in the iconic character Tommy Oliver and exploring the Green Ranger storyline, but sadly, those plans never materialized.
What Else Is Leaving Netflix Soon?
Although the new Power Rangers movie isn’t available until March 6th, several other titles are leaving Netflix sooner. Keep an eye out for Married to Work Season 1 departing on February 10th, followed by the first seasons of Netflix Originals Nadiya’s Time to Eat and Nadiya Bakes, and Quantum Leap Season 1, which will be removed on February 12th and 14th, respectively.
As a movie buff, I’m a little bummed to see a few titles leaving streaming next month. The 2010 A-Team reboot, along with all three seasons of Warrior, will be gone on February 16th. If you’re a horror fan, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974 is leaving on February 18th, and Shakespeare in Love disappears on the 20th. But the biggest loss for me is definitely She-Ra and the Princesses of Power – all five seasons are leaving on February 21st, which is a real shame!
Several titles will also be leaving in February, including Red and Sonic Boom on February 22nd, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on February 25th, and seasons 3 and 4 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on February 26th.
