Capcom’s Pragmata has received very positive feedback from both critics and players. On Steam, 97% of over 1,000 user reviews are positive, and the game quickly attracted over 56,000 concurrent players after its release.
Okay, so the launch numbers aren’t massive compared to Capcom’s biggest games like Resident Evil Requiem or Monster Hunter Wilds, but honestly, it’s a really good start for a brand new game! It actually sold more at launch than Monster Hunter Stories 3 (54,778 copies) and even Resident Evil 7 (20,449). I was surprised to see it even beat Resident Evil 3 Remake’s peak player count, which was only around 60,293. Pretty impressive, if you ask me!
Capcom hasn’t shared sales figures for Pragmata yet. Given the game was announced in 2020 and took years to develop, they’re likely pleased to finally have it out and see the positive response. Whether Capcom plans to continue the franchise remains uncertain.
I just got my hands on Pragmata, and it’s available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and even the new Nintendo Switch 2! I’ve already written a review – I gave it a 9 out of 10, so definitely check that out. There’s also a launch trailer that focuses on the story, but heads up – it spoils some of the plot, so watch at your own risk!
