Pre-sale tickets are live for Cynthia Erivo’s Dracula where she performs all 23 roles herself

I’m so excited to hear that Cynthia Erivo is coming back to the West End! She’s going to be starring in a completely new take on the classic story of Dracula, and I can’t wait to see what she does with it. It sounds absolutely amazing!

Next February, the lead actress from Wicked will perform all 23 roles in the show, even playing the title villain herself.

Directed by Kip Williams, who previously brought us Sarah Snook’s acclaimed one-person show, *The Picture of Dorian Grey*, this new production offers a fresh and psychologically driven take on the classic story. It explores the idea that the true monster isn’t an outside force, but something that exists within us, all through a powerful solo performance.

Erivo is returning to the stage after ten years, following her acclaimed performance in the Tony Award-winning production of The Colour Purple.

She expressed her excitement about returning to the stage, calling it a long-awaited homecoming. She was particularly drawn to the role in Dracula, appreciating its depth and complexity, and believing it would allow her to explore powerful themes about humanity. She felt instantly connected to the part and couldn’t stop thinking about it after being offered the opportunity.

Kip’s work is powerfully moving – it’s both unsettling and hopeful, prompting us to confront the harsh realities of the world while also cherishing the goodness we strive to protect.

It’s unusual for an actor to portray such a wide range of characters and viewpoints in a single performance, and I feel privileged to be doing so for West End theatregoers in this remarkable show.

I’m definitely nervous about taking on this show, and I know it’s going to be incredibly difficult. But I’m prepared to give it my all.

You can see Dracula at the Noël Coward Theatre in London from February to May next year. Here’s information on how to buy tickets.
