Primal Carnage: Evolution, A Remaster of 2015’s Primal Carnage: Extinction, Launches on May 28th

Circle 5 Publishing just announced that Primal Carnage: Evolution will be released on PlayStation 4 on May 28th. A new trailer shows off the game’s action, with dinosaurs and humans battling it out. Even though it originally came out on older consoles, this updated version looks even better on PS4 Pro and PS5.

You might be asking, “What is this ‘remaster?'” Well, Primal Carnage: Evolution is built on the foundation of Primal Carnage: Extinction, a multiplayer game from 2015 for PC and PlayStation 4. It pits a team of humans against dinosaurs, with players controlling both sides. Announced in September 2023, Evolution includes more dinosaurs, significantly expanded customization, and a lot of new content.

The first game didn’t receive great reviews, scoring a 46 on Metacritic based on ten critic reviews. However, players on Steam seemed to enjoy it much more, with 84% of 4,910 user reviews recommending the game – earning it a ‘Very Positive’ rating. Surprisingly, the new version, Primal Carnage: Evolution, won’t be released on PC, despite already having in-game purchases planned using a currency called Phoenix Points.

We’re going to have to wait and see what happens, but right now it feels like things are stuck until Capcom reveals the next Dino Crisis game.
