Prime Video has a lot of great new original series coming soon. Although it’s hard for any show to stand out in the crowded world of streaming TV, Prime Video has had success with several of its most compelling titles. As a major streaming service, Prime Video continues to add more and more original shows each year.
Prime Video has a lot to look forward to in the coming year! With many new shows already filmed or in production, there’s something for every viewer. From a variety of genres to popular actors and a growing fanbase, the future of Prime Video is looking very promising.
10. Off Campus
Coming To Prime Video: May 13, 2026
Based on Elle Kennedy’s popular book series, Off Campus is a drama that follows the lives of a college hockey team as they navigate love, loss, and finding themselves. With five books in the series, Prime Video’s adaptation arrives as a timely college romance.
Following the popularity of Heated Rivalry, the new series Off Campus kicks off with a love story between Hannah Wells, a music student who can’t stand hockey, and Garrett Graham, a star hockey player known for his charm. This first installment, based on the novel The Deal, focuses on the classic opposites-attract dynamic.
9. Spider-Noir
Coming To Prime Video: May 27, 2026
Starring Nicolas Cage, the upcoming Prime Video series Spider-Noir marks the first live-action show set in the Spider-Man universe. Cage plays Ben Reilly, a struggling private investigator who was once The Spider – New York City’s sole superhero in the 1930s. Though years have passed, a compelling new case will pull Ben back into the life he left behind.
I’m really excited about the new Spider-Man series! Lamorne Morris, who I loved as Winston in ‘New Girl,’ is playing Ben’s best friend, Robbie Robertson – he’s a news reporter. The story centers around Ben reclaiming his role as The Spider, but in a city that’s totally different now. And get this – they’re releasing Spider-Noir in both black and white and color, so you can watch it however you prefer! It’s a fantastic idea.
8. Elle
Coming To Prime Video: July 1, 2026
Prime Video will release Elle in the summer of 2026, a new series that serves as a prequel to the Legally Blonde movies. The show, set in the 1990s, stars Lexi Minetree as a teenage Elle Woods and will explore a side of the character viewers haven’t seen before. Reese Witherspoon, who originally played Elle Woods in the films, is an executive producer on the series.
The show will star June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother, Eva Woods, and Tom Everett Scott, known from ‘That Thing You Do!’, as Elle’s father, Wyatt Woods. Alongside these well-known actors, the series also showcases a lot of exciting new talent.
7. Kill Jackie
The new Prime Video series, Kill Jackie, stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and is based on the novel The Price You Pay by Nick Harkaway, who also writes under the name Aidan Truhen. The show follows Jackie Price, played by Zeta-Jones, a former international drug smuggler now working as an art dealer. Her new life is turned upside down when she learns she’s been targeted by a group of professional killers. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
When Jackie discovers she’s being targeted by a dangerous group known as The Seven Demons, her survival skills kick in. She embarks on a quest for both revenge and answers, but her past catches up to her, leading to unexpected and shocking results. The series, which will have eight episodes, is expected to be released in late 2026.
6. Carrie
As a huge horror fan, I’m really excited about Mike Flanagan tackling Carrie! He’s doing it as a miniseries for Prime Video, set to come out in 2026. It’s based on Stephen King’s novel, of course, and knowing Flanagan, it’s going to have that signature, atmospheric horror he does so well. From what I’ve heard, it’s not a straight-up remake, but more of a fresh take on the story of Carrie White – Summer H. Howell is playing her – so it should be familiar but also offer something new. I can’t wait to see what he does with it!
The upcoming series will feature Samantha Sloyan as Carrie’s mother, Margaret White, and Matthew Lizard as the high school principal, Henry Grayle. Kate Siegel and Rahul Kohli, who frequently work with director Mike Flanagan, will also appear in the show.
5. Blade Runner 2099
Coming to Prime Video in 2026, Blade Runner 2099 will continue the story from the films Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049. Based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner franchise is a major influence on cyberpunk culture.
Featuring Michelle Yeoh as Olwen, a Replicant nearing the end of her lifespan, and Hunter Schafer as Cora, who is also likely a Replicant, Blade Runner 2099 is a live-action continuation of the story. For the first time ever, the series will focus on the experiences of a Replicant, offering a fresh perspective for fans of the Blade Runner universe.
4. Life Is Strange
A TV series based on the popular video game Life Is Strange is coming to Prime Video, likely in 2026 or 2027. Announced in September 2025, the show will follow Max (played by Tatum Grace Hopkins), a photography student who gains the ability to rewind time. She uses this power while trying to save her best friend, Chloe (Maisy Stella).
Max is learning a new skill, but it’s proving difficult. While she works at it with her friend Chloe, they start looking into the disappearance of a fellow student and discover secrets about their town. Their investigation leads to dangerous choices, and they’re faced with life-or-death decisions that will have lasting consequences.
3. Vought Rising
Next year, Prime Video will release Vought Rising, a new series that serves as a prequel to The Boys. The show, starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront, will delve into the dark beginnings of Vought International in the 1950s, framed as a thrilling murder mystery. It will also showcase the early adventures of Soldier Boy and is expected to be a hit with fans of The Boys.
Although we don’t know exactly when Vought Rising will be released, Jensen Ackles has confirmed the show is planned to have several seasons. Fans of The Boys will be excited to see Soldier Boy portrayed in his natural habitat – the 1950s – which will reveal more about his backstory.
2. Tomb Raider
Fans can soon look forward to a new take on the classic Tomb Raider series, coming to Prime Video. Created and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the show will feature Sophie Turner as Lara Croft. Unlike previous versions, this Tomb Raider series will focus more on developing Lara Croft’s personality and story.
The new Tomb Raider series aims to blend the feel of the video game with the classic movies, offering a fresh take on the franchise. It has the potential to be a standout show on Prime Video and finally give Lara Croft the compelling story she deserves.
1. God Of War
The popular video game God of War is being adapted into a new series for Prime Video. Although we’ve gotten a first look at Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus, details about the show’s plot are still limited. The series will be based on the Norse mythology setting of the 2018 God of War game and its follow-up.
With hopes that Prime Video’s upcoming series will match the success of HBO’s The Last of Us, Amazon is also planning more adaptations of popular video games. While fan reactions have been varied, a God of War series is currently expected to be released around late 2026.
