Pretty Lethal is killing it on streaming.
The new action movie, Pretty Lethal, premiered on Prime Video on March 25th. Directed by Vicky Jewson, who also worked on The Witcher: Blood Origin, the film centers on a group of ballerinas who must fight for survival against a dangerous gang after finding themselves stranded at a remote inn near Budapest. The cast features Maddie Ziegler (known from My Old Ass), Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Avantika (the 2024 Mean Girls), Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place), Iris Apatow (The Bubble), and Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman (Kill Bill). Reviews for Pretty Lethal have been generally positive, with a 63% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to FlixPatrol, which analyzes streaming data, Pretty Lethal is currently the third most popular movie on Prime Video globally. It’s only surpassed by Agent Zeta at number two and Mercy, the top-ranked sci-fi thriller starring Chris Pratt.
Since its release yesterday, the new action movie on Prime Video has quickly become more popular than several other titles on the platform. It’s already surpassed movies like Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s The Bluff (now at No. 4), the young adult romance Sidelined: The QB and Me (No. 5), the Keanu Reeves comedy Good Fortune (No. 6), and the action-comedy The Wrecking Crew (No. 7), which features Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa.
Currently, Pretty Lethal ranks at number 5 on Prime Video’s list of most popular movies and TV shows in the U.S. It’s only behind Mercy (at number 3) and three series: Invincible (number 1), Scarpetta (number 2), and Young Sherlock (number 4).
According to data from FlixPatrol, the new movie is off to a strong start worldwide. It debuted on charts today in many countries and is currently a Top 10 hit in over 36 territories, and a Top 5 hit in around 30.
The movie Pretty Lethal reached the top spot on regional charts and currently holds No. 1 in Brazil, Chile, and Colombia. It’s the second most popular movie in nine other countries, including the United States, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Norway, Peru, and Sweden. In those locations, it’s only surpassed by either Agent Zeta or Mercy.
There’s a good chance Pretty Lethal could climb to the top spot in more countries soon. But even if it doesn’t reach No. 1, continuing to perform well for a few weeks could make it a big success and possibly lead to a second movie.
If “Pretty Lethal” does well, it’ll be the second movie I’ve seen with Uma Thurman on Prime Video that gets a sequel! I really enjoyed “Red, White & Royal Blue” last year – it was a sweet LGBTQ+ romance – and they’re already making a follow-up called “Red, White & Royal Wedding.” She’s coming back as President Claremont, which is fantastic news, and I’m definitely excited to see what happens next!
