Prime Video’s The Bluff Rises to No. 1 on Streaming Charts

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Karl Urban’s pirate adventure quickly became a hit on streaming platforms after its release on Prime Video on February 25, 2026.

The movie The Bluff is once again the most popular film on Prime Video in the United States, according to FlixPatrol. It’s moved ahead of the new documentary Melania, which explores the life of former First Lady Melania Trump. This is another setback for Melania, as while it briefly topped the U.S. charts, it didn’t reach number one worldwide.

Melania Was Very Divisive Upon Release

As a film buff, I remember the buzz around Melania – and then the shock when it completely flopped. Critics really didn’t like it, but surprisingly, audiences seemed to enjoy it more, giving it a pretty high score despite the negative reviews. Still, it wasn’t enough to save it financially. It cost a whopping $40 million to make – the most anyone had ever spent on a documentary – but it only brought in under $17 million at the box office. It was directed by Brett Ratner, and it actually hit theaters on January 30th, 2026, even though the project was completed back in March of the same year.

The film The Bluff received mixed reviews. It didn’t achieve a ‘fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, scoring 57% from critics and 62% from audiences. However, it did attract a large number of viewers on streaming platforms. Interestingly, fewer pirate movies are being made now than when Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean films were popular, which might suggest a renewed interest in adventure stories at sea.

The Bluff Earns Its R-Rating

The filmmakers behind the popular Avengers movies, the Russo brothers, helped produce The Bluff. Frank E. Flowers directed the film, which he co-wrote with Joe Ballarini. The movie stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas (known for Citadel), Karl Urban (The Boys), Ismael Cruz Cordova (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Safia Oakley-Green (Out of Darkness), and Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett).

Okay, so I just watched The Bluff, and it’s a really fun, gritty adventure – definitely earns that R rating! It’s set in the Caribbean around the 1800s and centers on a former pirate, played by Chopra Jonas, who’s trying to build a quiet life for her family. But, naturally, her past catches up with her. Old enemies reappear, and she’s forced to embrace the violence she left behind to keep her loved ones safe. It’s a classic revenge story with a swashbuckling feel, and I was totally hooked!

Making The Bluff was a dream come true, for both men and women. Seeing Karl Urban and Priyanka Chopra looking fantastic – sweaty, attractive, and involved in intense action – was incredibly exciting. I honestly can’t imagine a more satisfying experience.

The Bluff is streaming on Prime Video.
