Prince Harry is prioritizing reconciliation.
Following a meeting with King Charles III – their first in nearly two years – Prince Harry expressed his desire to continue improving his relationship with his father, despite ongoing tensions between them.
Harry recently told The Guardian in an interview, published on September 14th, that his main priority for the coming year will be focusing on his father.
Prince Harry is optimistic that his recent private meeting with his father, King Charles, at Clarence House has moved them closer to resolving their differences. He stated that the visit, where they had tea, “definitely brought that closer.”
Harry also confirmed the meeting went well while visiting his father’s home in the U.K. on September 10th. He briefly told reporters, according to Sky News, “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”
Prince Harry, who left his role as a senior royal in 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle, and moved to the United States, has often said he wants to repair his relationship with his father, particularly now that King Charles is battling cancer.
Harry hasn’t resolved his issues with the royal family partly because his and Meghan’s security was removed in the U.K., making it difficult for them to travel back home for visits.
He told the BBC in May that he’s been having disagreements with some family members for five years, and the main issue is a dispute over human life and safety.

It’s not just about security concerns keeping me following Harry’s story; he’s also said his book, *Spare*, which came out in 2023, has really complicated things with his family. It seems like sharing his story so openly has created some lasting difficulties in their relationship, and it’s heartbreaking to watch as a dedicated follower.
Harry admitted that some of his family members may never forgive him for writing a book, and confessed they likely hold grudges about other things as well.
Despite the attention it’s received, Prince Harry-son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, and brother to Prince William-doesn’t regret sharing his life story in his memoir.
Harry, who shares 6-year-old Archie and 4-year-old Lilibet with Meghan, told The Guardian he delivered a tough message in the most thoughtful way he could, and that he feels good about how he handled it.

Prince Harry told the BBC on May 2nd that he was deeply upset by the outcome of his recent legal fight. He added that, as things stand, he doesn’t foresee returning to the UK with his wife and children.

Prince Harry expressed a desire to rebuild his relationship with his father and brother, but indicated it depends on them being willing to reconcile. He shares two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with his wife, Meghan.
He doesn’t foresee returning to the U.K. with his family anytime soon. He expressed sadness at the thought of his children never getting to know his home country.
Harry explained that his father has significant influence and could potentially solve the situation. He suggested this wouldn’t require direct involvement, but rather allowing professionals to handle things without interference.
After years of fighting, he’s now seeking peace and a way to make amends. He explained, “Life is short, and my father doesn’t have much time left.”
