It looks like the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, a reimagining of the popular PlayStation 2 game, is getting close to release. Ubisoft has confirmed they still plan to launch the game next year.
In fact, it’s actually narrowed the release window to the first three months of 2026.
Ubisoft recently mentioned the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in its financial report, alongside other upcoming games like Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence, and one currently unannounced title. They expect to release the remake before the end of March 2026.
According to Insider Gaming, the surprise game Ubisoft is working on is likely a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Their latest report even suggests it could be released the week of March 23rd, 2026.
The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was announced over five years ago, but its development has been difficult. The project has been passed between several different development teams.
In a recent June 2025 social media update, the official Prince of Persia account shared that development is still underway. They stated the team is actively working on the game, carefully designing and refining it with a lot of dedication and effort. They emphasized the team’s passion for the project, joking that it’s fueled by a lot of coffee!
