Priscilla Presley isn’t entertaining any conspiracy theories.
After almost 50 years since the death of her ex-husband, Elvis Presley, 80-year-old Priscilla Presley is finally addressing rumors that the music icon is still alive.
Priscilla Presley recently shared with *People* magazine that she’s heard many untrue rumors, like the one about Elvis still being alive in hiding. She added, with a touch of sadness, that she truly wishes he were still here.
Priscilla confirmed that Elvis is at peace and then shared memories of their fast-moving romance, which started in 1959 when she was only 14 years old.
I met him when I was very young, before I’d really thought about my future,” she said. “Even while we were dating, I felt lost, wondering what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I didn’t want to be a nurse, a teacher, or a secretary – I just didn’t know what I *did* want. But then life happened, and I cherish every experience.
Priscilla and the musician married in 1967 after she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to be with him. Their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was born nine months later, but the couple divorced in 1973.
In addition to the loss of her husband in 1977, the mother considered the day her 54-year-old daughter passed away to be one of the most devastating moments of her life.
Honestly, when I heard about Lisa Marie passing away in January 2023, it absolutely broke my heart. Priscilla said it was the second saddest day of her life – after losing Elvis, of course! She told *People* magazine it took her a really long time to even begin to accept that Lisa was gone, and can you blame her? It’s just… devastating.
Oh my god, I was SO worried! Apparently, Lisa was suddenly rushed to the hospital, and it was Danny – her ex, and Riley and Benjamin’s dad – who found her. She was unresponsive at home, and it turned out she had a blockage in her small intestine. It was something from a weight loss surgery she had a while back, and it just came up so unexpectedly. I was just a mess hearing about it!
Lisa had stopped breathing and was put on a ventilator. They waited for hours, hoping for good news, until the doctor came in and sadly told Priscilla that Lisa had passed away.
She said her family – including her 16-year-old twins, Harper and Finley Lockwood, with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood – found it incredibly difficult to accept what happened, and the pain continues today.
