Skate Story became available on PlayStation 5 at the beginning of the month, and was immediately added to the PS Plus Extra game library, giving many players access to it.
While developer Sam Eng’s success is commendable, it soon became clear the game had significant issues on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The game runs well on a regular PlayStation 5, but users with the more powerful PS5 Digital Edition experienced significant performance issues, described by Digital Foundry’s John Linneman as “extremely unstable and messy.”
The developer quickly became aware of the problems, and just a week later, released a small update (432 MB) for the PS5 specifically to address them.
Get update 1.006.000 to download and install, and players with a PS5 Pro should notice a significant performance boost.
Linneman recently shared that the game now runs great on the PlayStation 5 Pro. He explained that previous performance issues were caused by a bug that has now been fixed. He encourages everyone to give the game a try, saying it’s ‘amazing’.
So, anybody on a Pro should get this update installed and give the game a second shot.
