PlayStation Plus subscribers are a little disappointed with one of the free games offered in April 2026. PlayStation recently released a new set of PS Plus titles available throughout the month, including Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream. Although the remastered Tomb Raider collection is a popular choice for many, it’s also the source of some frustration.
Some PlayStation Plus subscribers are upset with the Tomb Raider I-III Remastered bundle because it doesn’t have a Platinum trophy on PS5. This is due to a PlayStation policy change when moving from PS4 to PS5, which treats game collections as having only one trophy list. On PS4, however, each of the three Tomb Raider games in the bundle has its own separate trophy list, and each one includes a Platinum trophy.
Many PlayStation Plus members on Reddit are saying they’ll play the PS4 version of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered instead of the PS5 version due to the differences between the two. While this lets them earn trophies, it means they’ll be playing an older version of the game that doesn’t look or run as well as the PS5 version.

One user, u/No_More_Hero265, expressed frustration with PlayStation 5 game collections. They explained that you either earn a Platinum trophy in every game within a collection, or you get none at all. They feel it’s a problem when they have to intentionally play worse to unlock these trophies.
One user, u/UtkaMotion, said they’d enjoy the smoother 120 FPS option on the PlayStation 5, but earning all the in-game achievements (Platinums) is more important to them.
Many PlayStation fans want Sony to bring back the old trophy system from the PS4 on the PS5, but it’s unlikely to happen. Sony hasn’t made significant changes to trophies since the PS5 launched in 2020. It’s possible they’ll address these concerns when the PS6 comes out, but PS Plus subscribers shouldn’t expect any changes to how trophies work in games like Tomb Raider I-III Remastered anytime soon.
