A well-loved role-playing game that has only been available on PlayStation 4 for almost ten years will receive a remastered version in 2026. Remasters and remakes of older games are now quite common, but usually focus on titles from the PlayStation 1, 2, or 3 eras. Remasters of PlayStation 4 games are less frequent, making this exciting news for fans of this particular RPG series.
Bandai Namco announced today that Tales of Berseria is getting a remastered version next year. Originally released for PS4 (and PS3 in Japan) in 2017, Tales of Berseria is a more recent installment in the long-running Tales series. Previously, the game was only available on PS4 and PC. The remaster, called Tales of Berseria Remastered, will launch on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

It wasn’t surprising to hear that Tales of Berseria is getting remastered, as Bandai Namco has been steadily re-releasing older games in the series. They recently brought Tales of Xillia to current consoles just a few weeks ago. While many fans expected Tales of Xillia 2 to be next, Bandai Namco has chosen to remaster Berseria instead.
The remastered version of Tales of Berseria will include several improvements to make the game more user-friendly, like quicker access to the in-game shop, icons showing where to go, and the option to turn battles on or off. It will also come with all the downloadable content released for the original game, plus updated graphics.
A new Tales game is currently in development, and it will be the first major installment since 2021’s Tales of Arise. Bandai Namco hasn’t shared any information about it yet, and it’s unlikely they will for some time. We might start getting details, however, after Tales of Berseria Remastered launches in February.
