The PS5 Pro came out less than a year ago, offering features like AI-powered upscaling for sharper images, a more fluid gaming experience, and better ray tracing effects.
The $700 console offers more power than a regular PS5, resulting in smoother gameplay. Games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Horizon Forbidden West, and Stellar Blade look and perform exceptionally well on it.
As a PS5 Pro fan, I’m starting to notice something a little disappointing. It feels like not all game developers and publishers are really taking full advantage of what the console can do. It’s not consistently showing off its power, and that’s a bit frustrating.
Recently, a number of games have launched without taking full advantage of the PS5 Pro, or haven’t been optimized for it at all. This has frustrated players who spent a lot of money on the console.
The console version of Silent Hill 2 had a very rough launch last year. While the developers said they would fix the issues, those improvements haven’t been fully delivered yet.
The new game, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, was expected to showcase the power of the upcoming PS5 Pro, but reviews suggest it currently performs worse than the standard PS5.
Silent Hill F is also experiencing problems, specifically with the PlayStation 5’s upscaling technology, which uses AI to improve image quality.
The problems aren’t limited to Konami titles. Borderlands 4 also received criticism for launching with significant technical glitches, and it doesn’t appear to be compatible with the PlayStation 5 Pro console.
Look, as a PS5 gamer, I’ve noticed a frustrating trend: a lot of big releases have had problems at launch. It’s happening enough now that everyone’s really hoping it doesn’t become the norm. We just want to be able to enjoy these games without constant issues!
While the console generally works well, more and more issues are being reported. This could be a major problem for dedicated fans who are being asked to pay a premium price.
