The unconventional action game set in the future, Neo Berlin 2087 for PS5, recently released a fresh gameplay trailer before Gamescom commences next week – interestingly, it’s free of any German accents.
As a dedicated gamer, I can tell you that a few years back, this game took everyone by surprise, seemingly materializing out of thin air. However, the follow-up footage has fallen short, even though the jaw-dropping visuals it showcased left us in awe.
The trailer commences by depicting a conversation between a man and a woman that’s filled with vague talk about black holes. Following this, there’s a series of fast-paced action scenes displayed in quick succession.

As you’ll notice, this title can’t make up its mind about whether it should be first-person or third-person – so it’s both at the same time. There’s even a hint of some Max Payne-style slow-mo gunplay, as the protagonist dives backwards and picks off his foes.
Here’s what the blurb says:
Discover an immersive tale told via innovative gameplay, fresh stages, dramatic cinematics, and high-stakes battles. In this thrilling unveiling at Gamescom 2025, you’ll encounter two new characters – Bryan and Phoenix.
Absolutely, we appreciate the aspiration displayed, and as previously stated, the production is indeed top-notch. However, for a better understanding, we’re eager to learn more details about the gameplay dynamics since the developers describe it as an Action Role-Playing Game (ARPG).
There’s still no release date, however, so don’t expect to be playing this one for quite some time.
