The Welcome Hub is now a key feature of the PS5, letting you personalize it with widgets that quickly display the information you care about most.
We’ve recently added a new section that shows you details about the game you played most recently, including the total number of times you’ve played and your total playtime. You’ll also find quick access to your wishlist, friends list, Trophies, and other features.
I’m really loving what Sony’s been doing with the PlayStation’s home screen lately! They’ve started adding these awesome animated backgrounds, and a lot of them are inspired by their big games like Stellar Blade and Ghost of Tsushima. What’s even cooler is they’ve added seasonal animations, so the background will actually change depending on the time of year – it’s a really nice touch!

YouTube creator Mystic recently discovered that the company is testing some new features as part of a beta program.
The app has a standby mode that dims the widgets and displays an animated background when you’re not using it, similar to a screensaver. However, this screensaver only works if you’ve previously opened the Welcome Hub, which limits how often it appears.
You can now also use a slideshow as your background, featuring screenshots you choose. You’re able to customize how the images transition and how quickly they change.
