In today’s world of first-person shooter games, is it truly considered a top-tier online multiplayer game in 2025 if it doesn’t include a Battle Royale mode? This appears to be the common belief among most FPS titles now, and it seems that Battlefield 6 will also follow this trend.
As a gamer, I’m pumped for the upcoming PS5 game reveal happening later this week on July 31st. However, word on the street is that one of its multiplayer modes has already leaked – Battle Royale! This tasty morsel of info comes from Temporyal, a social media leaker who claims to have sneak peeks into the game world. They’ve even shared a recreation of the Battle Royale map they supposedly saw (courtesy of Eurogamer). Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
This isn’t the authentic Battle Royale map, but rather an imitation based on what the leaker has observed. The leaker then pinpoints several points of interest, asserting that the map is called Lyndon Beach. There have been whispers in the past about a Battle Royale mode for the game, and it’s also speculated to be released separately as a free download.
In simple terms, the upcoming game Battlefield 6 is expected to come with a single-player story mode along with its traditional multiplayer features, promising an intense warfare experience. On Thursday, we’ll discover more details about it, and there are rumors that a Battle Royale mode might be introduced as part of this reveal.
In the past, a Battlefield game has been introduced with a Battle Royale feature, such as Battlefield V which received Firestorm post-launch. At that time, we found the addition to be insufficient, summarizing our thoughts as “too little, too late”. While the mode is decent in itself, it falls short when compared to existing games like Apex Legends. Hardcore players might enjoy it, but casual gamers may find it lacking in comparison.
