There’s a resurgence in the popularity of interactive Full Motion Video (FMV) games, and these games are especially favored in countries like China and South Korea. In these regions, dating and horror-themed titles have become major successes.
Gradually, some games have been moved to the PlayStation 5, such as Love Is All Around and Superscout among others.
However, contrary to those previous romances that maintained a serious tone, the plots have recently become more bizarre or unusual.
As an eager enthusiast, I’m excitedly looking forward to adding the upcoming Sovereign Brain Empire to my wishlist on Sony’s platform, in anticipation of its expected release in 2025.
This game is an interactive tale told from your perspective, set in a future controlled by the Sovereign Brain AI, where society’s status is based on intelligence. In this world, even though you have an adult body, the Sovereign Brain classifies you as a one-year-old infant. You’re adopted by Xiaoxiao and Lingling in a time when everyone unquestioningly accepts the system’s decisions. However, your potential as a baby is that of a Monarch, providing you with unprecedented luxuries! Can anyone be more thrilled?
The poorly translated blurb barely makes sense, but it gets curiouser and curiouser.
So, this is your “Mum”, Lin Lingling:
And this is your “Dad”, Xiao Xiaoxiao:
Apart from being a one-year-old baby in an adult’s form, you are fortunate to have an actress aunt, a nanny, and a life coach in your family as well.
On Steam, the general feedback is quite negative, with many complaints directed towards the English translation. However, there’s a possibility that this issue could be addressed and improved on the PlayStation 5 version.
We’re not expecting this to be any good, but we’re fascinated to say the least.
